Prayer for Special Occasions - S4-005

Heavenly Father, You have blessed our home with the presence of children. We have been delighted and happy by the growth and development of their spiritual life and personalities. Our hearts have been inspired by the innocence of childhood and the adventure of youth.

As these children go away to school, we pray that your guiding love may accompany them. Guard and keep them from the fears of the day, the terrors of evil. Make strong their love for you and respect for all people. Bless the teachers who seek to help them in their academic development and Christian character. Inspire them with wisdom.

We pray for the grace to accept this transition from home to school as a part of your great plan in the growth and development of their young life. Free us from any temptation to over possessiveness. Grant that we may not hinder the life of our students with too much advice or crippling sensitiveness. May we allow freedom for the development of their initiative. Help us to live our lives in a way that may be an invitation to all youth to find the secret of Thy presence.

Bless our children with health. Grant them diligence in the pursuit of knowledge. We pray that they learn the unselfish art of friendship and good choices.
